HOW TO SELECT YOUR SERVICE CATEGORIES
Select the services that your company provides from the drop down menu. It is important to
select the correct services and all of the services you provide as these will be used to match
with Customers' Service Requirements.
You are able to select up to nine service categories in total. You may select them all at once
or visit this function as often as required to change, add or remove services from the list. As
you select from the menu, the title will appear in a text box below the menu.
Note that you are selecting services not name of the service provider. ie. "Plumbing and
Heating" NOT "Plumber" This is so that when a customer submits a Service Requirement, it
has more chance of being matched with the most Service Providers. For example, a
customer will know that he requires a Will Writing Service Provider, but won't necessarily
know or care that it could be provided by an Accountant or a Solicitor.
You have an opportunity to briefly describe each service, as provided by your company, in
the labeled free format text boxes provided.
Once you have completed your selection and added descriptions, you must click the SAVE
button to move on to the next page.
HOW TO DEFINE YOUR CATCHMENT AREA
This part of the service selection enables you to define the area within which you work. You
may provide your services at your place of work, in which case your clients will visit you, or
you may do your work at your customers' homes or their place of work. The catchment area
that you are about to define will apply to all of the service categories that you selected in the
previous page. If you want to associate a different catchment area to individual service
categories, you can do so using the View Services function.
In some instances, you may be able to offer the choice of venue to the customer. For
example, some hairdressers work from a shop or travel to their client's homes or place of
work.
It is important to define this area correctly as it will be used to match with customers' Service
Requirements.
- You must first tick the box to confirm that you expect customers to travel to your work
premises and / or tick the box to confirm that you are prepared to travel to your customer's
home or place of work.
NOTE If you operate from several locations, then just tick the box to confirm that you are
prepared to travel to your customer's location. By doing so, you will be able to define all of
the locations from where you work.
- If you ticked the box to indicate that service is to be provided at your work premises, you will
be presented with the county and post codes of the address that you registered. You may
over write these if the work is to be undertaken at another premises.
You will be alerted to any requirements submitted by customers who are prepared to travel
to where your work premises are located.
- Will you visit your customers' address or do you have branch offices?
If you tick this box, you will be presented with a selection of counties from which to choose.
i) At the highest level, you may select the National (All UK Counties) tick box. This means
that you are prepared to travel anywhere within the UK to deliver this service.
Selecting this option also means that your company will be alerted to every requirement
submitted, in the UK, that requests the service you provide.
ii) At the next level you are invited to select from the list of counties in the UK.
If you select a county, a secondary window will appear with a list of all of the post codes for
that county. You may select all of the post codes, by checking the "Entire County" tick box, or
you may select the precise post codes to where you are prepared to travel or where you
have a branch office. You must press SAVE to close this window and return to main page so
that your selection is saved.
You may repeat this for as many counties as you need to define how far you are prepared to
travel.
You will be alerted to the Service Requirements of all customers who live or who are
prepared to travel within the area that you've defined.
Once you are satisfied that you've completed your selection, you must press SAVE on the
main page to save your catchment area.
